Two rival factions have been contesting over minority leader and whip seats at the Assembly.

UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has revoked the earlier communication announcing changes in the leadership of the Nairobi County Assembly.

A letter by Malala on Wednesday, seen by Nairobi Leo, indicated that the revocation of the leadership change followed a ruling by the Political Parties and Disputes Tribunal.

“In the view above we are constrained to suspend our earlier communication and that there be status quo of the existing Minority leadership in line with the court order,” reads the letter part.

The latest letter by Malala to the Nairobi County Assembly speaker comes in the wake of simmering tension in the Nairobi County Assembly.
