CS Murkomen has ordered the reorganisation of internal spaces at JKIA and the installation of a new roof.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday, November 30, received a report on the state of airports in Kenya.

The report was handed over to the Transport CS by a technical committee that he formed to investigate the state of airports following an incident of leaking roofs at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

According to the CS, after reading the report, he has issued new directives to the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) to implement and improve the state of airports in the country.

The CS has ordered the erection of canopies on critical walkways at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the Immediate commissioning of the standby generators to provide primary backup.

CS Murkomen has directed the reorganization of internal spaces at JKIA to reduce redundancies and the installation of a new roof.
