President William Ruto has revoked the appointment of 6 senior officials who served on various state boards.

In a Gazette Notice dated Friday, December 15, the Head of State revoked the appointment of Raphael Mullei as the Chairperson of the National Drought Management Authority.

Ruto instead appointed Shallow Abdullahi Yahya to that position and will serve up to July 12, 2025.

Further, Ruto reshuffled the members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

In the new changes, Ruto revoked the appointment of Wilkister M. Simiyu, Fancy C. Too (Dr.), Michael Kamau Kamiru, Darshan Shah and Samir Ibrahim as the Board of Directors of the Kenya Revenue Authority.

Following their revocations, the President appointed Hadi Sheikh Abdullahi, Richard Boro Ndun’gu, Lydia Cherono Rono and Amolo Ngweno.

The new KRA Board of Directors will serve till January 12, 2026.

However, President Ruto reassigned Michael Kamau Kamiru to the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 (1) (a) of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Act, I, William Samoei Ruto,

President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint—Michael Kamau Kamiru to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th December 2023," the Gazette Notice read in part.

Darshan Shah whose appointment to the KRA Board of Directors was revoked by Ruto was reassigned by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung'u.

Shah will serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority.

"In exercise of powers conferred by section 8 (1) (e) of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Act, the Cabinet Secretary for

the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— Darshan Shah to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th December, 2023," the notice announced.

The key appointments are expected to streamline government operations in various sectors.
