Late businesswoman Monica Kimani’s father Bishop Paul Ngarama has revealed he will visit Joseph Irungu popularly known as Jowie in Prison when he returns to Kenya.

Speaking on Sunday, March 31 during an interview with Kenya Diaspora Media, Bishop Ngarama said he is ready to have a conversation with Jowie and forgive him.

“I am ready to forgive Jowie. When I go back to Kenya, I will visit him in prison and say, my son, let us forget the past and focus on the future, things happen and we know God has a purpose for all of us,” Bishop Ngarama stated.

Monica Kimani’s father also announced plans to bring together his family with that of Jowie and Jackie Maribe.

“We need healing between the three families, the family of Jackie Maribe even if she was acquitted she went through a lot, and also the family of Jowie. I wish we could even contact, talk together, and put the matter to rest,” Ngarama added.

Monica Kimani was found dead at her apartment in Lamuria Gardens Apartment in Kilimani in September 2018 leading to the subsequent arrest and charging of Maribe and Irungu.

On March 13, Justice Grace Nzioka sentenced Jowie to death after being found guilty of murdering the late businesswoman.

In her ruling, the High Court Judge pointed out that the murder of the late businesswoman was planned, and intended before being executed.

“I have ordered that the first accused person before this court Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Jowie shall suffer death as provided for the offense of murder under section 204 of the penal code of Kenya and that sentence is set aside by a lawfully competent jurisdiction,” Justice Nzioka ordered.

However, Jowie through his lawyer Andrew Muge has filed a notice of appeal against his death sentence.
