Moja Expressway, a company operating and managing the Nairobi Expressway has announced a service disruption.

In a notice, Moja Expressway informed motorists using the elevated highway that there is a service downtime affecting the payment of toll fees using mobile money.

The operator indicated that the disruption is as a result of an issue raised by the mobile money provider.

"We would wish to notify motorists using the Nairobi Expressway of a service downtime affecting payment of toll fees using mobile money due to technicalities from the external mobile money service provider," Moja Expressway announced.

The operator however advised motorists to register for ETC service to continue using the Nairobi Expressway amid the downtime. Alternatively, motorists were advised to be prepared to pay using cash.

Moja Expressway however vowed to cooperate with the mobile money provider to address the issue.

"For your convenience, please register for the ETC service at your nearest Toll Station or prepare cash in advance while using the MTC lane," the notice further explained.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused and are working closely with the external service provider to resolve the issue," it added.
