Pastor Dorcas said that the country has lost far too many Kenyans through accidents this year.

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has cautioned drivers against reckless driving that endangers the lives of other motorists and Kenyans.

Speaking during the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service at Kenyatta University on Sunday, April 14, Pastor Dorcas said that the country has lost far too many Kenyans through accidents this year, something that needs tougher measures.

“From January 2024 to 10th April 2024 we had 1,313 fatalities and 3,619 people seriously injured. This is something that is most unfortunate and I think it is time Kenyans think seriously about how we drive on our roads," Dorcas stated.

The spouse of the Deputy President added," These are not just mere numbers; these are our brothers and sisters. On this day as we remember the 11 students of this university my heart goes to the families. We have lost and lost very big."

The Maungu accident that claimed 11 lives of Kenyatta University students dominated with the 11 being honored.

17 others who were receiving treatment have since been discharged while one is still receiving treatment at a Nairobi Hospital.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu warned the youth in the country against getting into alcoholism, drugs, and substance abuse, something he says has claimed many lives in institutions of higher learning in the country.
