The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has sacked Anne Ngugi and Judith Wambare from BBC Africa.
In an internal communication seen by Nairobileo.co.ke on Sunday, April 21, the BBC informed its staff that the two veteran journalists would no longer be offering their services to the international media house.
The media house said they would disclose more details about the sacking later.
“Anne Ngugi and Judith Wambare have been terminated from BBC. An official communication will be shared later. If you have any queries or you want any clarification kindly do contact the HR,” the message reads in part.
Ngugi, who previously worked for K24 TV, joined the BBC in May 2018. On the other hand, Wambare joined the media house in 2016.

At the same time, the BBC has promoted Robert Kiptoo to Senior Broadcast Journalist (SBJ) in charge of the Dira ya Dunia radio programme and Carolyne Robi to Senior Radio Presenter.
Kiptoo has been with the BBC for 14 years, while Robi has been with the service for five years.
At the same time, the BBC has hired Phyllis Mwatee on a permanent basis. Mwatee has been working as a freelance journalist for the corporation between 2018 and 2022.
Beldeen Waliaula has also joined the service, prior to her recruitment by the BBC, she worked at KTN for the past four years as a news anchor and health reporter.
Mwatee and Waliaula will be based in the BBC Africa studio in Nairobi, while Sammy Awami, who worked with the BBC as a bilingual reporter from 2015 to 2020, will return as a journalist based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
