DP William Ruto has told off critics in relation to the involvement of his office in Kenei's murder.

Deputy President William Ruto has taken a stance in the murder investigations of Seargeant Kipyegon Kenei who was attached to his Harambee House office.

Kenei was found murdered in his house at Villa Franca Estate in Nairobi in January 2020.

In an interview with Citizen TV on April 15, 2021, the DP was questioned on the progress of investigations in Kenei's murder.

This comes after Kenei's father John Chesang told KTN News on Sunday 11, 2021, that he intends to revive his son's murder probe, pointing an accusing finger at the DP.

Ruto maintained that he had directed the police to ensure the case is fully investigated.

He alleged that some of the accusations thrown at him in relation t Kenei's murder are purely political, and aimed at tainting his reputation.

"I have told the IG and his officers that they must get to the bottom of that story. Whether it is murder, assassination, whatever it is," Ruto stated.

"The other day I saw a police officer killing his wife and then killing himself. There are many incidents that happen but it is up to the police to investigate and get to the bottom without necessarily creating drama or politics," he added.

Kenei's father had alleged that the DP was yet to fulfill the promises he made to the officer's family.

DP Ruto accused political opponents of using the tragic incident to feed Kenei's family with lies.

"I want to the family, as much as they want to get the bottom of what happened to Kenei, so do I, and many other Kenyans who believe in justice," DP Ruto remarked.

The DP alleged that Kenei is related to an incumbent Minister who he alleges may be inciting the family.
