Police and the NTSA has ordered the arrest of motorists caught on camera racing along a road in Kiambu County.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in conjunction with the National Police Service (NPS) have launched a manhunt for motorists captured racing on a busy road.

In a video seen by NairobiLeo.co.ke, the motorists can be seen maneuvering the road at a high speed as they overtook each other.

This forced other motorists and cyclists to steer off the road and allow them to pass. The incident happened along Limuru Road.

A second video which appeared to be a recording from a dashboard camera, showed a car maneuver traffic at a tunnel along Thika Road at high speed.

NTSA and the police have since alleged that the motorists were in a competition, ordering their arrest.

Irate members of the public condemned the incident, stating that if not nabbed, the motorists may cause serious accidents on the roads.

NTSA has often maintained that motorists maintain the stipulated speed limits on Kenyan roads, also taking note of the surrounding terrains and environs.

Kenyans have called for the state agency and police to install cameras on all roads or assign police officers to man the roads or risk a grisly accident in the future.

The caution comes at the back of several accidents experienced in various parts of the country in the recent weeks.
