  • President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga received the BBI report on Wednesday in Kisii.

Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok who is allied to the Deputy President William Ruto has warned against blanket endorsement for the Building Bridges Initiative report.

Nanok in an address at a public event on Wednesday said leaders should allow time for citizens to read consult widely with leaders in Turkana before declaring their stand.

He dismissed leaders who were already endorsing the report received by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga in Kisii, saying their positions were prematurely reached.

"You have your own views, allow the rest of us to also share out thoughts. Let the BBI report come, we will read it and take a position after discussing as Turkana leaders.

"Those of you expecting us to accept and endorse what we haven't seen, it's up to them. In Turkana, we must discuss and agree," stated Nanok at the event.

BBI proposes for the expansion of the executive by creating the office of Prime Minister with two Deputies and the introduction of the Office of The Leader of the opposition.

The report also suggests that the Senate implements representation to one man and one woman for each county. Meaning, a county will have two senators; one male and one female.
