Economist David Ndii has said that it is now clear that ODM leader Raila Odinga’s quest for power by uniting with the Kenyatta’s is the Orange party’s mission after the 2018 handshake.

Ndii went on to claim that he was told the same at Odinga’s Capitol Hill office and that is when he ended his relationship with ODM.

It’s been clear for all to see that Raila’s pursuit of power through dynastic rapprochement with Kenyatta clan is ODM’s sole mission post handshake. Was told as much at Capitol Hill. I in turn told them rest of journey was for those destined to be entombed with the Pharaoh,” said Ndii.

His comment was in response to Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok who said the ODM mass exit has just started following Governor Amason Kingi’s ouster as Kilifi ODM chairman.

The stampede out of ODM has just begun & a shell will remain. I was the 1st to leave & was removed from National Vice Chair in a flash,” said Nanok.

Kingi was been removed as the Kilifi ODM chairperson over disloyalty and replaced with Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire.

This came in the wake of a push by Governor Kingi for the formation of a coalition by five Coast-based parties.

Reports indicate that Governor Kingi vowed to back a new coalition dubbed the Coast Integrated Development Initiative which comprises of fives parties, that has put him at loggerheads with ODM officials in the region including Governor Hassan Joho.

Reports also indicate that two political parties with roots from the Coast have been registered in the past week, Pamoja Alliance (PAA) and Kenya Democracy for Change (KDC), that were given provisional certificates on July 30.

PAA is reportedly linked to Kingi.
