Area Assistant Chief Jonathan Sikongei stated that the fire which occurred around 10pm might have been caused by an electronic short-circuit.

We got reports that there are five people in a burning house, we rushed to the scene and tried to rescue them but we were unsucessful),”  Sikongei stated.

According to Citizen Digital, a family member Paul Maina, revealed that the cooking gas was discovered intact after the fire had been extinguished.

The fire started at 10 pm yesternight, we established that it was caused by an electric short-circuit because we found the gas intact at the scene),” Maina said.
