Vihiga County Governor Wilber Ottichilo has allegedly excluded Deputy Governor Patrick Saisi from an official retreat to Mombasa County.

According to reports, Governor Ottichilo, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), Chief Executive Committee Members (CECs), and a number of senior staff from the county are set to retreat to the Coast for six days.

The meeting is intended to help the county leaders bond, discuss the county's procurement policies and the wave of impeachments witnessed in the country recently.

Why DG Saisi was excluded from the meeting is yet to be revealed especially when the leaders plan to discuss key issues affecting the county.

The deputy governor, however, has had a number of disparities with Governor Ottichilo.

According to Nation, Saisi claims to be unaware of the said retreat.

He, however, questioned the logic of the county splashing huge sums of money on the retreat while county employees are yet to be remunerated for the months of July and August.

Governor Ottichillo and his deputy are said to have fallen apart following a disagreement on the payment of health workers who downed their tools in February this year.

The two leaders are still at loggerheads despite an intervention by ODM Leader Raila Odinga who asked them to bury the hatchet and work together.

"The retreat can only be meaningful if the governor reaches out to me and the four CECs who were impeached. It is the governor who should reach out to us because he is our boss," Saisi was quoted as saying.

The deputy governor is set to resume his duties next week on Monday following a long break.
