A group of Jubilee leaders from the Gusii region has commenced a push to have Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i replace Deputy President William Ruto as the Jubilee Deputy Party Leader.
Addressing the media after a consultative meeting on Sunday, November 21, the leaders led by Kitutu Chache legislator, Jimmy Angwenyi, noted that they believe in CS Matiang’i and will be fronting him for the position.
"We met here to prepare for the NDC and we made a resolution that we have a leader and we support our leader who is Dr Fred Matiang'i," Angwenyi stated.
Angwenyi’s remarks were echoed by Nyamira Woman Rep who noted that the entire region supports CS Matiang’i.
“We know that there are several resolutions which are going to be taken and as a community, we are ready to take the resolutions to the Jubilee party. Again we have identified that from Kisii community we have one of our leaders Fred Matiang'i that we have said we are going to support and he is going to lead us,” Jerusa said.

The sentiments by the Gusiii leaders come barely a week before Jubilee Party holds it National Delegates Conference where DP Ruto and his allies are expected to be shown the door.
Meanwhile, Jubilee party recently announced that it will hold its National Delegates Convention on November 30, 2021, at Kasarani, Nairobi County.
According to the statement, the agenda of the NDC will be: Review, formulate and approve all policies of the party, ratify part constitution, and consider matters referred to the NDC by the National Executive Committee.
"Take Notice, in pursuant of Article 7.1:1 and 7.1:2 of the Jubilee Party Constitution, a meeting of the National Delegates Convention shall be convened at 10:00 am on the 30th day of November 2021 at Kasarani," the statement read in part.
