Ahmednasir told Raila that the Presidential seat is a different ball game as far his Nyayo era torture is concerned

Nairobi Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi says he is willing to represent the ODM leader Raila Odinga in courts for free in the event he seeks justice for being tortured during President Daniel Moi's era.

According to the famed lawyer, the ODM party chieftain deserves compensation for the harrowing ordeal he underwent, but not a presidential seat.

Ahmednasir, who enjoys close ties with Deputy President William Ruto who is hitherto Raila's fierce competitor, said the Presidential seat is a different ball game in as far his sufferings are concerned.

"Hon Raila...the inhuman torture you suffered under Moi entitles to legal redress in the High Court and an award in damages...not the keys to State House. I'm willing to represent you pro bono in the High Court to get you justice...lakini mambo ya State House ni different bwana!" he tweeted.

His tweet was in response to Raila's statement during his presidential bid declaration at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi, on Friday, December 10.

The ODM supremo walked Kenyans down the memory lane recounting his sufferings in the struggle for multiparty.

"The tears from the torture chambers are still running as you can tell from the handkerchief that never leaves from my hand," Raila narrated.

The Former Prime Minister will be giving his fifth stab at the presidency in the 2022 elections.

His previous attempts have been marred with allegations of rigging so much so that the Supreme Court nullified the 2017 Presidential election declaring it illegal, null and void.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had been declared the winner. The ODM chief, however, refused to participate in the second election citing lack of reforms.
