Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has been summoned by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has been summoned by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) over remarks she made during an Azimio la Umoja rally in Vihiga.

On Thursday during a rally in Vihiga, Sabina seemed to suggest that Jubilee might have rigged the 2017 polls.

"Nimesikia wengine wakisema tuliwaibia kura, kuna kaukwelu kidogo. Lakini mjue kama tulijua kuiba, si hata hii tutafanya 'nini'? Wanafikiria hao ndio wajanja? She posed.

In a statement issued by IEBC on Friday, Sabina is required to appear before the commission's Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee on Tuesday.

"Whereas the commission is seized of a report and material against yourself in regard to violation of clauses 6(a) and 6(I) of the electoral code of conduct.

"You are hereby required to attend the office of the commission at the Anniversary Towers on Tuesday, February 15 at 0900hrs in the forenoon examination by the electoral code of conduct," read the letter to Chege.

Sabina's comments sparked a heated debate with DP William Ruto dismissing her claims.

"Kuna mama moja wa Azimio alisema mimi an Uhuru tuliiba Kura 2017. Nataka Niwaulize nyinyi watu wa Nakuru, kuna kura ya mtu mliiba? Si mlitupigia kura? Hakuna Kura ya mtu tuliiba," Ruto stated.
