On Saturday, February 19, Stanley Livondo claimed that an unnamed government official tried to crash an aircraft that the Head of State was flying in.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has called for the arrest of former Lang’ata parliamentary aspirant Stanley Livondo over claims that there was a plot to kill President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking at the thanksgiving ceremony of the Gatundu South MP, Livondo claimed that an unnamed government official tried to crash an aircraft that the Head of State was flying in.

He said the attempt was made in two separate instances - one, while he was flying from Kisumu to Nairobi, and the second attempt, was while he was headed to the United States through Dubai.

“If your friend who is so close to you like a brother attempts to crash a plane that you are on board more than twice, will you forgive him," Livondo said.

The claims sparked mixed reactions on social media forcing Kuria, who was the convenor of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika to take action, urging DCI boss George Kinoti to arrest Livondo over his utterances.

"I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility

"I have today requested @DCI_Kenya boss George Kinoti to arrest Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement," Kuria wrote on Twitter.

Kuria arrived in the country on Saturday morning and was treated to a warm welcome by his supporters who had camped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The MP was out of the country for months after he left for Dubai where he has been receiving treatment for third-degree burns he sustained on his feet.

He organized the thanksgiving rally to thank Kenyans for the support they extended to him during his ailing period.
