Kabogo revealed that he held several meetings with OKA but they failed to reach an agreement and thus he opted for a different path.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has revealed the reason behind his absence from recent One Kenya Alliance (OKA) meetings and pressers.

Addressing Tujibebe Wakenya Party aspirants on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, Kabogo revealed that he held several meetings with OKA but they failed to reach an agreement and thus he opted for a different path.

“Niliona hatusongi, ni chai tu kwa boardroom, sai ingine ni mimi nda nalipa. (I saw we were not progressing, we were just meeting and having tea…At time I’m the one who paid),” Kabogo said.

He, however, noted that the party is currently in negotiations with like-minded parties.

The former Kiambu governor announced that Tujibebe Wakenya party will hold its National Delegates Conference where he will announce their way forward.

“We are talking to these other people. Do I have to lean anywhere? No I don’t have to… In the next weeks, we will do our NDC so that we may give a party position in what is happening in the leadership of the country. As it is now, sisi ni wakujibeba, Tujibebe tujenge taifa,” Kabogo said.

Kabogo was part of the Mount Kenya Forum leaders comprising Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, Chama Cha Kazi leader Moses Kuria, The Service Party (TSP) leader Mwangi Kiunjuri, who initiated talks with OKA.

However, OKA began to split when ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and FORD-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula joined forces with Deputy President William Ruto and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

DP Ruto was the chief guest at ANC's NDC where the other OKA principals, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu's Gideon Moi, and UDP's Cyrus Jirongo walked out of Bomas of Kenya.

Kabogo attended the NDC and was among the leaders that stayed to the end of the convention and held hands with the newly formed Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
