The cause of the accident was not immediately determined. No casualties were reported at the time of publishing.

The busy highway has in the past experienced similar accidents that led to traffic snarl-ups. 

In 2020, an accident involving six vehicles gave motorists a nightmare on the road after the highway became impassable.

A report by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) last year revealed that 3900 people had died from road accidents from January to November 2021.
