Babu Owino demanded that Kuria be arrested and probed for making what he termed as "hate speech" remarks.

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has called on the Inspector of Police Hillary Mutyambai to arrest Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Speaking on Saturday during Azimio la Umoja brigade campaigns in Nairobi, the MP demanded that Kuria be arrested and probed for making what he termed as "hate speech" remarks.

According to Owino, Kuria's remarks made in Kiambu amounted to ethnic profiling of a particular community hence should not be taken lightly by the police.

"I have a message for Moses Kuria. He said anybody who has not undergone the cut should not lead this country. We want to ask the Inspector General of Police to arrest him because he is profiling certain communities" stated Owino who was on the Azimio la Umoja campaign trail in Embakasi.

The legislator also castigated Kuria stating that he meant other tribes cannot lead this country questioning his interest in men's genitalia.

The MP's calls were echoed by Nairobi's nominated MP Maina Kamanda, who said Kuria should be called out for disrespecting Raila Odinga.

This comes just a day after Kuria, while on a campaign trail in Gatundu Kiambu county, claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta would be cursed for going against his father's wishes.

According to Kuria, the Mt Kenya community led by Uhuru's father Jomo Kenyatta, allegedly took an oath in the past vowing never to vote in "uncircumcised man" adding that by doing so, the community could be risking a curse.

The MP was accompanying Deputy President William Ruto for a series of rallies in the area.
