Bahati, who is eyeing the Mathare parliamentary seat, has accused the ruling party of planning to shortchange him.

Singer- cum-politician Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has revealed that the ruling Jubilee party is planning to shortchange him with regards to the award of the nominations certificate for the Mathare Parliamentary seat.

Bahati, who is eyeing the Mathare parliamentary seat, has accused the ruling party of planning to lock him out of the race.

The development come days after the party issued him with the nomination certificate.

While addressing the press conference on Monday, Bahati said the ruling party has asked him to step down.

He termed the developments as a blow to the youths who should be allowed to take part in elective politics.

"Give the youths of this country a chance. Give the people of Mathare a chance to elect the leaders they have always wanted," Bahati said amidst tears.

The MP aspirant went on to appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and ensure that his served nomination certificate is not revoked.

"I am asking my beloved president and party leader of Jubilee to intervene and serve me justice," he said.

Bahati said he is determined to win the sit and can therefore not set down now.

He divulged that he worked so hard for the nominations certificate by following all procedures that saw him beat four others to be the suitable candidate for the seat.
