Prof. Wajackoyah's presidential papers were earlier rejected by IEBC.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has sent social media into a frenzy following a meeting with Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 2, the lawmaker shared photos of his meeting with the presidential hopeful with a caption: “Bumped into our worthy competitor this morning and wished him well.”

The outspoken lawmaker’s post, however, drew a lot of reactions as netizens streamed their comments on the post.

According to a section of netizens, they wondered whether the presidential hopeful was a worthy competitor to the Gatundu lawmaker who’s gunning for Kiambu gubernatorial seat.

They asked him to face the reality and compete with the contestants in the Kiambu race. However, a section of netizens was delighted and wished Wajackoyah well.

Meanwhile, Wajackoyah's presidential papers were rejected last week by the Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

According to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, Wajackoyah failed to raise the requisite 2,000 signatures per county in at least 24 counties.

However, IEBC gave Prof. Wajackoyah until Thursday, June 2 to get his house in order before presenting his papers again.

IEBC has today cleared Wajackoyah after he met all the requirements.
