Raila Odinga's presidential campaign secretariat spokesperson Makau Mutua has fired at Deputy President William Ruto after he questioned the academic qualifications of the Azimio presidential candidate.
In a tweet on Thursday, June 16, Prof. Mutua claimed that the Deputy President was unqualified to question the background of the former Prime Minister’s academic papers.
The law professor advised the DP to remain quiet poking holes to the second command’s PhD which he acquired from the University of Nairobi.
“Deputy President William Ruto is morally and legally unqualified to question the provenance of Azimio’s Raila Odinga academic papers. We know many shocking things about Mr Ruto’s supposed PhD that we can bring to light. He’s better advised to shut his mouth,” Mutua stated.
His remarks came after Dr. Ruto on Thursday said the government should stop targeting Nairobi Senator Sakaja politically over his academic qualifications as he seeks Nairobi’s governor seat.
The DP said that if there was someone whose academic papers were to be questioned was the Azimio presidential candidate.
"Kama kuna mtu ako na certificate ambayo haijulikani ni candidate wenu wa Rais wa Azimio. Kabla hamjatuambia maneno ya Sakaja, tuonyesheni candidate wenu wa kiti cha Urais alisoma wapi na nani, na mwalimu wake alikua na nani. Wacheni utapeli." Ruto stated.
