Wiper Party Machakos governor seat candidate Wavinya Ndeti has issued a statement after being cleared by the IEBC disputes tribunal.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Sunday, June 19 dismissed a petition that questioned the validity of Wavinya's degree.

Following the decision, Wavinya said that those who sued her were trying to derail her gubernatorial quest.

"These people just wanted to waste my time in court. My parents took me to school and I spent a lot of time reading, I thank God and my parents. They know the ground is good for me so they had to look for something else to derail me. I forgive them.

"In the fullness of time, the agents of darkness and witch-hunt will be silenced at the ballot. We are soldiering on undeterred by their evil schemes and vendetta," the Wiper gubernatorial candidate stated.

While throwing out the petition, the IEBC disputes tribunal ruled, "The committee lacks jurisdiction to determine the instant complaint. The returning officer discharged his mandate in accordance with the law. The instant complaint lacks merit. The complaint be and is hereby dismissed with no orders."
