"Raila Odinga should just accept the results of the elections and move on," the MP said.

Tiaty MP William Kamket has declared support for President-elect William Ruto.

Kamket was elected on the Kanu ticket, an affiliate member of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance.

In a statement on Thursday, Kamket said he cannot oppose the presidency of Ruto labelling him as a friend and a fellow Kalenjin.

He said he is ready to work with him even as he asked him to serve the people of Kenya diligently.

"William Ruto is my friend, being a Kalenjin like me, I will not join a team of people who want to see my brother down. We may differ on other things but I must protect his success with all my body organs," he said.

He added that his support for Ruto is not because he wants some treatment from him but because he is interested in seeing him succeed because he is his brother.

He asked him to reach out to him anytime he feels because he is ready to work with him.

"I'm not doing so because I want favours from his government but because he won fairly. A man who doesn't want to see your brother succeeding will also be jealous of your success when you succeed," he added.

"Bwana Rais, twanga kazi ndugu. I am a phone call away, reach me whenever you need me. I am ready to work with you.Matin kosamis muryan kopo kot nebo."

At the same time, Kamket implored ODM leader Raila Odinga to concede defeat saying it is time he hangs his political boots.

"Raila Odinga should just accept the results of the elections and move on, nowhere is written that Raila must be president. He has failed even with the deep state, system, government machinery and all the support from the state," he said.

Kamket was one of the ardent critics of Ruto and a supporter of Kanu party leader Gideon Moi.

His support for Ruto is a blow to Azimio that is seeking to petition the Supreme court to overturn Ruto's win.
