Olkalau MP David Kiaraho was Sunday morning carjacked at gunpoint and robbed Sh700,000 among other valuables.

According to a report he filed at Karen Police Station, the MP said he was carjacked by armed gunmen who drove him around his car before robbing him.

He was robbed of the cash, ATM card and other valuables. The armed gunmen later abandoned him without harming him.

According to the MP's report, he had left a popular entertainment joint along James Gichuru and was on his way to his residence when the attack happened.

He was at a junction along Waiyaki Way around 2am when the gunmen ordered him to stop after he had slowed down.

The gunmen ordered him to lower his window after which they demanded he opens the door.

The MP obliged. Two people in the group forced their way into the car and they ordered the MP to drive along Waiyaki Way up to Muthiga area in Kikuyu.

The gang later took control of the car, blindfolded the MP even as they demanded cash, gun and other valuables.

After ransacking the car, the gang came across Sh700,000 kept at the drivers seat.

He engaged them by begging them not to harm him. They later drove his car up to Miotoni Road in Karen and abandoned him there.

The group had a gateway car on standby which they boarded and left the scene.
The MP was helped by guards who witnessed the drama as he was still blindfolded at the back seat of his car.

It is then that he moved to Karen Police Station to report the matter.
