President William Ruto on Monday occasioned a light moment at a press briefing in Tanzania during which he and President Samia Suluhu addressed together.
While making his speech, the President requested he address the function in English saying that he is not conversant with the Swahili language.
Ruto then proceeded to make his speech in English and after making his statement, an official began translating his words to Swahili.
Ruto heard him and posed his speech saying:
"I don't think it is necessary to translate. Kuna mtu haelewi Kiingereza hapa?" the president asked as the official replied saying he was doing so for the media.

But President Ruto fired back saying: "We wacha. Wewe utanichanganya zaidi wewe. Pole".
The light exchange made the attendees of the function burst into a peal of laughter.
Ruto went on to address several issues they had agreed with President Suluhu.
He said Kenya is keen on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations in bid to ensure both countries benefit.
Ruto said they agreed to address the issue of trade and how they can ease movement of people to and from the two countries.
He said the two countries should work on modalities of allowing free movement of people between the two countries and lift barriers that has made it difficult for the citizens of the two nations to interact.
