President William Ruto has directed the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) to furnish the Ministry of Interior and Coordination with a roadmap on how to deal conclusively with extrajudicial killings in the country.
Speaking on Monday, October 31, at State House, Nairobi, when he met IPOA, Ruto noted that the government must deal with extrajudicial killings and end the vice.
"You are uniquely qualified to help us define a mechanism to stop this practice," the Head of State said.
President Ruto underscored the government’s commitment to stop extrajudicial killings.

The directive comes days after President William Ruto disbanded the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)'s Special Service Unit (SSU).
The Head of State mentioned that the unit had deviated from its mandate of protecting Kenyans to executing them.
IPOA recently announced that they were investigating NPS action and/or inaction following numerous complaints received of enforced disappearances, abductions, and murders.
"They had five years which they used to run down the country in which insecurity had hit unimaginable levels with bodies were found killed in river Yala. The police had deviated from the role of protecting Kenyans to killing them.
"That is why I gave an order that the SSU of the police be disbanded because it was killing Kenyans. We will change this country for the better," Ruto stated.
