Kalonzo had during the Azimio campaigns pledged to start campaigns immediately after the August 9 elections

Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has blasted Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka over alleged early campaigns ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Kibwana appeared to downplay chances of the Wiper leader clinching the presidency saying he has attempted several times and failed.

He stated that the Kamba community has for years expected him to bring the presidency home only for him to quit the race and back someone else.

"Isn't it premature for Wiper Party to begin 2027 campaigns? From 2008/13/17/now 22, SKM assures his community 'his turn has come. And finally he 'Toshas' Raila. Quid pro quo. The enigma is still around; Martha is also waiting. When will the Kamba Nation call the SKM bluff?" he posed.

Kalonzo had during the Azimio campaigns pledged to start campaigns immediately after the August 9 elections are over saying he learnt the strategy from President William Ruto.

He said though the president had started his campaigns earlier, he had established solid ground for him to seek the top seat.

“DP Ruto started campaigns immediately after they were reelected in 2017 because he knew that he was focused on the presidency. I will also start my journey to State House a day after swearing in of Odinga as president,” said Kalonzo.

He said many Kenyans were ready to vote for him in the August polls but due to his love for a peaceful and united Kenya, he decided to shelve his ambitions and support Odinga for the third time.
