A section of netizens has descended on veteran musician Jimmy Gait over his remarks accusing Kenyans living and working in the Middle East of misbehaving.

During an interview on Friday morning, Jimmy Gait suggested that most of the Kenyans living in the Middle East are mistreated by their employers because of misbehavior, specifically “indiscipline, and immorality”.

He noted that the issue of mistreatment mostly affects women who he accused of “sleeping with their bosses”.

“There are laws in place that govern the agencies, the employees and the employers but in the case of indecency and indiscipline then someone has to face the consequences. I just want to encourage Kenyans going to the Middle East to focus on their work.

“The main reason you see some people get mistreated in the Middle East is because of indiscipline. Most Kenyans go there and they start doing immoral things and that leads to them being mistreated.

“There are so many Kenyan men working in the Middle East in Saudi, Qatar, Dubai the reason you don’t hear about men being mistreated is because they do not go sleeping with their bosses wives,” he said.

Reacting to Jimmy Gait, netizens took issue with his remarks, noting that he was arguing from a point of misinformation.

Other netizens took issue with the media house for giving him airtime to make such remarks.
