A man in Tana River County stunned his in-laws after he rejected millions offered as bride price for his daughter.
Hussein Maro, 63, requested his in-laws to pay only Sh7 which left the family shocked.
"My fellow elders. I am so excited to have my daughter get married into a good family. Therefore, as my daughter and I agreed. we shall take seven shillings only," Mr Maro told them.
Searching for Sh1
His request shocked the grooms family urging the elders to call him aside for a private talk to clarify whether he meant Sh70,000 or Sh700,000.
The groom's family searched among themselves and raised Sh6 only, forcing the ceremony to be delayed as they sought the remaining Ksh 1.
A family member was sent to get the remaining coin, which he found and brought later on. Mr Maro blessed the union between his daughter and her fiance and allowed them to tie the knot becoming husband and wife.
