Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is an alumni of several prestigious schools in the country including St Mary's School and Loreto Convent, Valley Road.
While studying in these schools, he interacted with other students, some of whom ended up being influential persons in different sectors.
In this article, we outline four of Uhuru's former high school classmates who've achieved great success in their different sectors:
Bruce Odhiambo
The late Bruce Odhiambo was not only a schoolmate but also a friend to the retired president. The two built a bond while studying together at St Mary's and ended up being close friends even after completing their O levels.

Bruce became a respected music producer and worked with several local international artists such as Redsan, Kanji Mbugua, Kayamba Africa, Les Wanyika, Kofi Olomide, and Awilo Longomba among others.
He was part of the team that played a key role in Uhuru's 2013 presidential bid having been among the founders of The National Alliance (TNA) party which the former president used to ascend to power.

During President Uhuru's first term, he appointed Odhiambo to be the Chairman of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund board, a position he held until he resigned in March 2016.
After resigning, he went back to music production at his studio dubbed Johari Clef audio-visual production where he served until he succumbed to heart related complications in January 2019.
Jimmy Kibaki
Jimmy Kibaki and Uhuru have a long history that traces back to their childhood. They both attended St Mary's and sat in the same class.
After school, they took different paths with Jimmy embracing business, while Uhuru moved into politics.
Jimmy Kibaki has reportedly made huge investments in the real estate industry and also oversees the estate left behind by his late father.
The estate is estimated to be worth billions of shillings.
James Muli
Little is known of James Muli who was one of Uhuru's former classmates. He is an alumni of Saint Johns University, New York, and has had the opportunity of working for several multinationals in the same city.

His passion for education saw him establish the European Business University of Luxembourg (EBU) in Wiltz.
The university has been keen in ensuring African students have access to international education by offering scholarships.
Tony Njoroge Munene
Uhuru and Munene met at St Mary's while they were in standard 3.
Speaking during the 80th anniversary of St Mary’s School in Nairobi in 2019, Uhuru divulged that Munene was one of his closest friends in school, adding that they were two of the most caned students during their time at St Marys.
Not much is known of Munene's life after school, but reports indicate that he is an established businessman with several enterprises in Thika, Kiambu County.
