Raila enjoys an enormous following both physically and digitally. For instance, on Facebook, he has over 2 million followers.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga is arguably one of the most followed politicians in the country.

He enjoys an enormous following both physically and digitally. For instance, on Facebook, he has over 2 million followers.

Despite having a huge following, Odinga only follows 15 accounts on Facebook, most of which are either organisations or media houses in the country.

Being a political leader, one would expect that the former prime minister would follow some of his close allies, however, he does not follow any local politicians.

The only two Kenyans followed by the Azimio leader are his wife Dr Ida Odinga and Mbogi Genje.

Raila married Ida in September 1973. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.

Mbogi Genje on the other hand is a Kenyan music group that focuses on Gengetone music - a genre that infuses HipHop with dancehall music.

Mbogi Genje is made up of three Kenyan youth namely; Guzman (Teddy Ochieng), Smady (Antony Odhiambo), and Militant (Malaka Yuen).

The group rose to fame in 2019 after releasing their viral hit dubbed Ngumi Mbwegze. The song was unique in the sense that it addressed the issue of crime and drug abuse, without using video vixens.

In the run-up to the 2022 general election, the group featured Raila in its song dubbed Fire. It is believed that this is where their relationship with Raila commenced.

The group also performed at a hip-hop rally held by the Azimio team and later met some of its leaders including Siaya Governor James Orengo.

Outside Kenya, Raila only follows former South African President, the late Nelson Mandela.

Local media outlets followed by the Kenyan opposition chief include; Pulse Kenya, KBC Channel 1 TV, Standard Digital, NTV Kenya, Milele FM, Citizen TV Kenya, and Azimio TV, the official communication platform for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

The organisations followed by Raila on Facebook are; the Kenya Revenue Authority, National Police Service, Twitter, ODM party where he serves as party leader, and Arsenal Football club which he supports in the English Premier League.
