President Uhuru Kenyatta extends nationwide curfew by a further 60 days saying he'd not hesitate to toughen the containment measures in the coming days.

 The head of state, however, varied the commencement time for the curfew from 9 pm to 11 pm up to 4 am.

The government has now allowed eateries and bars to operate up to 10 pm while allowing religious gatherings being allowed to accommodate one-third of normal sitting capacity.

The president asked the Education CS Magoha to issue a calendar for the 2020 academic year clarifying if it will be pushed to 2021.

Kenyatta was keen to note that the Covid-19 containment measures had aided in a significant drop in the number of crime incidents across the country and a decline in road carnage.
