Kenya has recorded 210 new Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours bringing the country's total caseload to 38,923.

In a statement sent to newsrooms on Friday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 3,065 samples had been in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of samples tested to 555,711.

In the new cases, all are Kenyans except five who are foreign nationals.

CS Kagwe announced that 141 are male while 69 are female with the youngest being a five-year-old and the oldest aged 95.

Kenya also recorded 91 recoveries with 77 patients discharged from the home-based care program and 14 from various hospitals around the country.

This brings the total number of recoveries to 26,114. The country is also mourning the deaths of seven patients who succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 725.


Counties

In the county distribution, Nakuru county led with 75 cases, Nairobi 37, Mombasa 15, Trans Nzoia 13 and Kakamega 11.

Kilifi County recorded 8, Uasin Gishu 8, Kisumu 7, Kiambu 7, Machakos 7, Bungoma 5, Kisii 3, Elgeyo Marakwet 2 and Nandi 2.

Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Meru, Murang'a, Kericho, Baringo, Laikipia, Embu, Vihiga and Narok counties recorded one case each.
