Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said the Hustler brigade will make changes to the BBI Bill if they win the 2022 presidential election.

Speaking over the weekend, Murkomen noted that they are taking notes and will work on correcting every clause forced against the people by the proponents of BBI.

He hit out at the government over claims of intimidation and using state machinery and independent institutions like EACC, DCI, and the police to frustrate those who expressed opposition to the BBI referendum.

“…If the government is going to use teargas, policemen, EACC, DCI, arresting people scaring people so that this document shall pass, we shall say okay use force let it pass… when we get an opportunity to implement what was passed, we’ll correct the once that have been pushed by force,” he said.

Meanwhile, ODM leader Raila Odinga; one of the chief proponents of the BBI Bill has expressed optimism that 24 counties could pass the Bill by Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

So far, 11 counties have given a green light for the Bill while one has rejected it.

A lot of lobbying has been happening behind the scenes with the Jubilee Party rallying its Ward Reps to pass the Bill, failure to which disciplinary action will be taken against them especially Nominated MCAs.
