The Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua has today met comedian Eric Omondi and agreed on an out-of-court settlement for a case where the latter is accused of producing inappropriate content.

In a statement on Monday, Dr. Mutua noted that Eric and his team are expected to meet nine specific conditions before KFCB withdraws the case against them.

Some of the conditions include; deleting all explicit content from his online platforms, suspension of the ‘Wife Material’ show until the matter is heard and determined and provision of the show’s scripts for approval by the board before future consideration.


Eric Omondi is also required to make a commitment that he’ll not produce or exhibit explicit content on his online platforms, and that in all his production activities, he’ll adhere to the set guidelines provided by KFCB.

“…That the said Eric Omondi deletes all explicit content running on his online channels forthwith…That the program is contention dubbed ‘Wife Material’ is suspended forthwith until this case is heard and determined and the same fully complies with the provisions of the Films and Stage Play Act Cap 22 of the Laws of Kenya,” KFCB’s statement read in part.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mutua has set up a committee made up of several creative to ensure that Eric Omondi fulfills his end of the bargain.

The team is made up of Jalang’o, Churchill, Big Ted, Nonini, Rafigah among others.
