The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) under the leadership of George Kinoti has formed a special team to investigate the alleged abduction and murder of four men in Kitengela over a week ago.

The DCI formed the special team after receiving an order from Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai.

Speaking at Kiganjo Police Training College on Friday, Mutyambai noted that the team has begun investigations on the matter.

According to Mutyambai, the team is expected to give him a conclusive report within the next one month.

“This morning, I directed the DCI homicide team to investigate this matter in order to get to the bottom of it…The team has already begun its work,” Mutyambai said.

Meanwhile, the police on Thursday recovered two bodies of the four missing friends in Murang’a and Kiambu counties.

The recovered bodies were those of; Elijah Obuong and Benjamin Imbai.

A third body suspected to be of Jack Onyango was also recovered, but the family has since disowned the body.

About ten days after the four went missing; it is still not clear what exactly happened to them.

The case has caused anxiety among Kenyans over the rising number of persons who go missing only for their bodies to be found several days later.

The case comes after a senior official at the National Lands Commission (NLC) was reported missing only for her body to be found dumped at Ngong area.
