Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has today, September 2, 2021, arrived in Zambia ahead of diplomatic talks with newly elected President, Hakainde Hichilema.
This comes barely two weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta attended Hichilema's inauguration as Zambia's Head of State on August 24.

"Looking forward to delivering H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta's special message to the newly elected President," Matiang'i stated.
President Kenyatta has in the past and recently stressed on the need to foster better and profitable relations with other countries.
While receiving the credentials of ambassadors and high commissioners assigned to Kenya from other countries at State House Nairobi yesterday, September 1, the Head of State maintained that his government is keen to work closely with the envoys to enable them dispense their duties with ease.
"Kenya is committed to building strong and friendly relations with their respective countries," he said.
President Kenyatta was among the ten (10) African Heads of State and Government at the inauguration of Zambia's new President Hakainde Hichilema in Lusaka.
Hichilema, 59, was sworn-in as the 7th President of the Southern Africa nation alongside his Vice President Mrs. Mutale Nalumango at a ceremony held at the National Heroes Stadium by Zambia's acting Chief Justice Michael Musonda.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Infrastrure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia were among the leaders in attendance.
