Deputy President William Ruto has said that the 2022 general elections will be a contest between a few political leaders versus an alliance of the people of Kenya.

He went on to say that it will be a race between who are after positions against leaders who are focused on changing the lives of ordinary Kenyans by creating jobs.

The DP who spoke at his Karen residence when he met aspirants for various positions from different counties in central Kenya on Friday noted that the good thing is that it is the people who will make the ultimate decision between the two groups seeking to succeed the Jubilee government.

“It will be between those who prioritize positions for leaders against those of us who are keen on jobs creation for the millions of ordinary Kenyans,” said DP Ruto.

Adding that, “The poll will put in competition those for the review of the Constitution with those who back the changing of the economy to uplift the poor.”

The aspirants were from Nyeri, Laikipia, Meru and Tharaka-Nithi Counties.

He assured the over 350 aspirants present of the UDAs commitment to holding fair nominations, adding that they were looking for a win-win situation for the winners and losers in nominations.

MPs present during the meeting include; Rahab Mukami, Rigathi Gachagua, Kimani Ichung’wah, Patrick Mariru, George Murugara and Halima Mucheke.
