Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Saturday, January 8, castigated Senator Mithika Linturi over 'madoadoa' remarks made during the UDA rally in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County.
The remarks made by Linturi attracted backlash on social media with netizens accusing the latter of incitement to violence and hate speech.
Kuria called on leaders who were at the Eldoret rally to rebuke the remarks made by the Meru Senator.

He noted that the remarks could trigger painful memories and open old wounds of the events that transpired in the 07/08 post-election violence.
"I am a close friend of the Deputy President. However, I am far. If you are in Eldoret and near hear tell him to rebuke this talk. It doesn't matter whether it is said by a Linturi or an Oscar Sudi. It matters that it is being said in Eldoret Sports Club, few kilometres from KAG Church Kiambaa in 'Burnt' Forest'. Jameni Madoadoa tena," the legislator posted.
Governor Kinyanjui called out Linuri for the remarks accusing him of profiling communities living in Eldoret.
"Utterance attributed to Senator Mithika Linturi in Eldoret is a serious assault to the peace and harmony to communities in Rift Valley. To profile persons on the basis of political or ethnic orientation is regrettable.
"We condemn the reckless talk & call for prosecution of the Senator. We may have our political differences but peaceful coexistence is key for all. The right to live, work or invest in any part of the country is not a favour from politicians, but a Constitutional right," Kinyanjui said.
Kenyans joined the leaders in condemning Linturi while calling for his immediate arrest.
