The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is in mourning following the demise of one of its founding members.

Ochieng' Ruku breathed his last over the weekend; the cause of his death remains unknown.

Taking to Twitter, the Raila Odinga-led political outfit shared in the grief endured by the bereaved family.

According to the party, Ruku was not only a member but one of its pioneer members.

Raila honoured him as a loyalist and staunch adherent who was keen on advancing the agenda of the party.

"The ODM fraternity mourns the passing on of Cllr. Ochieng Ruku. He was not only a member of the party but also a founding member. He was resourceful to the party, gave advice on many issues, and led from the front. The party leader Raila Odinga
