The burial ceremony of fallen media personality Catherine Kasavuli is currently underway at her parents' home in Zululu village, Vihiga county.

Mourners have thronged the homestead to bid farewell to the celebrated newscaster who in her heydays had stints with major local media houses.

The ceremony began moments past 9:00am on Saturday, January 14.

Her body was ferried to her home county on Friday, January 13, a day after a requiem mass was held at Friends Internation Church along Ngong Road, Nairobi.

Kasavuli succumbed to cervical cancer on December 30, 2022, while aged 60.

The veteran anchor was hailed for inspiring a generation of journalists having kickstarted her career with KTN before traversing the media industry.

She is survived by her only son and child Martine Kasavuli.
