An emotional moment ensued at the morgue as family and friends broke down in tears

The body of murdered LGBTQ activist Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo alias Chiloba was Tuesday morning removed from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for burial at his Sergoit village in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

Family, relatives and friends converged at the morgue  to collect his remains with burial set for the same day.

His cousin Gladys Chiri said all was set for burial even as she asked all those willing to accompany the family for the final send-off.

"We are now heading home straight for a family service then burial. We ask all those here to go with us so that we bury our brother," she said.

A family member offered a prayer at the morgue before the journey home started.

Chiloba's body was found stashed in a metallic box that was dumped in the Hurlingham area in Eldoret.


Jacktone Odhiambo his alleged lover and man who lived with him at his Kimumu rental apartment is the prime suspect in the murder.

Chiloba was found murdered and his body stashed in a metal box which was dumped at Hurlingham village near Kipkaren on the outskirts of Eldoret Town.
