A Nakuru couple has been thrown into mourning after losing their quintuplets who were born at Nakuru Level Five Hospital on Tuesday, January 31.

The five babies were born underweight and were placed in an incubator at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital's Margaret Kenyatta Mother and Baby wing.

According to the hospital's superintendent Dr. Aisha Maina, the babies were delivered at seven months and weighed between 500 grams and 650 grams.

Bahati MP Irene Njoki who visited the couple at the hospital has also confirmed the sad news.

"A sad ending. Rest in Peace (RIP) to the five angels," Njoki wrote.

The Jubilee MP on Wednesday visited the parents Simon Ndungú and Margret Wangui in the hospital and gifted them essential goods.

This is after the quintuplet’s father who is a Matatu tout revealed he was not expecting the five babies and asked well-wishers to help him raise the children.

"Nashukuru Mungu sana kwa kunipea hii chance kwa sababu ni wengi sana wanatafuta watoto usiku na mchana. Wengine wanaiba, wengine wanaenda kwa wachawi lakini mimi nimepewa na Mungu bure," Ndungu told the press.

The babies’ mother Margret Wangui had on January 29 went to the facility after feeling discomfort.
