“I know you have a problem with Uhuru and you should face him directly instead of going after the whole family.”

Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has fired a warning shot at President William Ruto and his allies over targeting the Kenyatta family in the ongoing tax saga.

Addressing a church on Sunday, Jimi Wanjigi warned that the ongoing onslaught against the Kenyatta and Moi families will lead to other Kenyans suffering too.

He asked President Ruto to stop targeting the Kenyatta family adding that Kenyans feel unsafe with the ongoing witch hunt.

“Going after Mama Ngina and the late Jomo Kenyatta you are now touching a live wire.

“Because if you are trying to take away Mzee Jomo’s property, it means our property is not even safe,” Wanjigi said.

Wanjigi added that though Uhuru had a problem with Ruto, the president should not target his family.

He said he should address his issues with Uhuru at a personal level rather than making others suffer.

“Former President Jomo Kenyatta is no longer with us and he should not be dragged into this tax debate," he said.

Adding;

“I know you have a problem with Uhuru and you should face him directly instead of going after the whole family.”

While speaking at a church in Lamu county, the former first lady said the due process of the law should be followed in addressing the matter rather than soiling people's names.

"There is no need of spoiling my name and that of others so that you can be seen to be working. Let those accused be taken to court and pay what he or she is supposed to pay," she said.

She went on to dare the state to auction her properties in the event she is discovered to have failed to meet her tax obligation.

Mama Ngina said the attacks meted out on her family are unfair and false further challenging the state to come clean on the issue instead of politicking.

"It is not true that I have not paid tax and people know they are not saying the truth," she stated.
