Lawyer Miguna Miguna now wants Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to be summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In an update via Twitter on Tuesday, February 21, Miguna stated that the Azimio leader should be asked to appear before the DCI to give his statement over the alleged police raid in former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s Karen Home.

“Summon conman Raila Odinga, too, otherwise Kenyans will believe that you fear him and that there are two (in)justices for Kenyans: one for plutocrats and the other for ordinary citizens!” Miguna stated.

The DCI earlier summoned Fred Matiang’i’s lawyer Danstan Omari to appear at DCI headquarters on Wednesday, February 22.

The officers are investigating an offense of publication of false information following an alleged raid in Matiang’is Karen Home and believe Danstan Omari is connected to the offense and would assist in the investigations.

"With the powers conferred upon me under section 52 (1) of the National Police Service Act No 11A of 2011, hereby compel you to appear before me at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation situated along Kiambu Road At Mazingira House on February 22, 2023, at 9.30 am without fail," the DCI letter read in part.

Omari was among the people who were present at Matiangi’s home on the night of the alleged police raid.

The DCI also warned Omari against skipping the summon noting that they would be consequences.

"Failure to comply with the requisition constitutes an offense liable to prosecution," the DCI added.
