Former CS Matiang'i deserves to be treated with dignity as a former state officer - Interior CS Kithure Kindiki.

A video has emerged of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki praising his predecessor Fred Matiang'i. 

This is in the face of the tribulations of the former CS whose home in Karen, Nairobi, was recently broken into by state security agents. 

The quarters that shared the clip suggested Kindiki spoke recently in the wake of Matiang'i's recent scuffle with the state.

In the clip, Kindiki is heard acknowledging the work undertaken by his predecessor, stating that he (Matiang'i) ought to be treated with dignity by virtue of him being a former state officer.

"My predecessor deserves to be treated with dignity as a former state officer alongside many other state officers who have served this country well," said Kindiki.

Adding that; 

"We cannot use the security apparatus to punish people simply because they are not in office. As I have said, everybody currently im office will leave. So I'm careful not use my time to try and hurt, demean or treat people unfairly because I'll also be a former minister,"

The CS said this while appearing for an interview on NTV in late December, 2022.

Earlier, Kindiki had divulged that he contacts Matiang'i for insights on running the critical docket.

Matiang'i is currently out of the country after flying out quietly on February 19.
