The student is said to have collapsed at the staffroom after being beaten by two male teachers.

A form one student has died after he was allegedly beaten by his teachers over allegations of cheating in physics examinations. 

Kelvin Kiptanui, a 16-year-old student of Chemase Secondary school in Tindiret, Nandi County died at Nandi Level IV Hospital hours after being admitted while in critical condition. 

Kiptanui is said to have undergone brutal corporal punishment.

The student is said to have made reference to a Physics textbook during an afternoon noon exam on Friday, about two weeks after joining the school. 

Tindiret sub county police commander Ali Jire confirmed the incident.

He said the matter was reported by the mother on Sunday adding that the matter is now in the hands of the area DCI boss.

"It appears to be a complex matter because the school is yet to make a formal report with the police," Jire noted.

Monica Cherobon said the son was in good health when joining the school. 

"He was rushed to the nearby dispensary but was quickly referred to Nandi Hills Level 4 hospital because he was in critical situations," the mother said. 

The boy is said to have vomited blood and complained of internal stomach injuries. 

He said he had been beaten 16 strokes of cane alongside kicks.  

The school principal Martin Masika said he has handed the incident report to the ministry of education who will now follow the matter up. 

The body of the deceased now lies at Nandi Hills Level 4 hospital.
