Natembeya insisted that he is in support of the Kenya Kwanza government and would not turn back.

Governor George Natembeya has on Wednesday, March 15 declared that he would not allow anti-government protests in Trans-Nzoia county.

Speaking at State House during a meeting with President William Ruto, Natembeya insisted that he is in support of the Kenya Kwanza government and would not turn back.

He stated that its time to serve the people and there would be no room for demonstrations in Trans-Nzoia. 

“There is no room for demonstrations in Trans-Nzoia. It is time to work and serve the people,” he said.

President Ruto on his part promised to expand and modernize Kitale town to cater for the growing population in the region.

The Head of State said that roads within the town will be upgraded and the sewerage lines fixed. He further stated that at least 150 acres of land will be availed to give room for the town’s expansion.

He observed that the Government is committed to transforming the county to make it a better place for everyone.

“In less than three months, we will equip the Trans-Nzoia County Referral Hospital with the most modern facilities,” said Ruto.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.

Health CS Susan Nakhumicha, Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’oei, MPs Lillian Siyoi, Patrick Simiyu, Allan Chesang’ and Ferdinand Wanyonyi were also in the session.
